Kirkby in Ashfield

St. Wilfred's Parish Church, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. On January 6th 1907, the whole church was engulfed by fire, leaving only the tower and spire undamaged. It was rebuilt very quickly, there was some speculation as to whether the church was subject to an arson attack. Some parish records were lost in the fire, Dates - Feb 3rd 1864 to Jan 16th 1907.

Kirkby Woodhouse

General Baptist Chapel, This former Chapel is in a very sorry state, subject to an arson attack it now lies overgrown and unkempt. A planning application was submitted to Ashfield District Council and the closing date for objections was Oct 2008, this is to turn the Chapel into two semi detached dwellings.
