Demolished/Destroyed Places of Worship

Christchurch New Connexion Methodist, Abbey Road/Dalkeith St. Destroyed in an air raid 16th April 1941. Site now a toolhire shop & gym. One wall still standing - photo to be added.

Baptist Church, Abbey Road. Destroyed in an air raid 16th April 1941. The minister and one other were killed. Site now occupied by the 'Coronation Gardens'.

Ebenezer Primitive Methodist, William St/Forshaw St. Closed 1953, demolished for town centre re-development mid-1960s. Site now occupied by Debenhams, following a second redevelopment.

Emmanuel/Congregational Methodist, Abbey Road/Ainslie St. Closed 1991, demolished in 1993. Site now occupied by sheltered housing.

Greengate Wesleyian Methodist, Greengate St. Demolished c2001. Site now occupied by SureStart Welfare building.
