The Lackey family coat of arms
LackeyScotland1.jpg

I am mainly interested in tracing my paternal linage of the Lackey's. They originated in Scotland, were banished to Ireland and then moved to England. The earliest person I have information on at the moment is James Lackey born about 1820, he was a Boot & Shoe maker from Saintfield Ireland.

I have set up a website linked to my Lackey research.

As well as the Lackey's there are a few other "married into" names - Wood, Jackson, Liddle, Mitchell

locality:

Lackey - durham and surrounding area

Wood - bradford and west yorkshire

Jackson - ireland

Liddle - northumberland

Mitchell - northumberland

My maternal linage

Haylock

Bigmore

Bland

Thompson

Crockford

all of which are from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk areas. Although they didnt all stay in these and some went to Essex, London and Australia.
