Greyfriar Parish Church is a Gothic styled building of 1875. originally built for the Bloomsgate United Presbyterian Congregation. Attributed to architect William Leiper, theis building is the smallest church he designed. A simple layout over five bays (the first of which has the lower roofline visible and incorporates the door shown in the image). The main walls are constructed with snecked rubble and ashlar dressings to windows and doors provide decoration. The base of the tower is square, a clever transition to an octagonal shape is topped by a spire with alternate decorated and undecorated faces.

Christ Church, (Scottish Episcopal) is a simple rectangular building with aisles, one of many ecclesiastical structures by John Henderson. Dating to 1853 and found on Hope Street the building features stained glass by Pauline Payne, local Grammar School Art teacher of the 1960's and 1970's, though sadly this is largely obscured from outside by anti vandal guards.
