I have put Cor Magor and female into the Ancestry 1881 Census born 1845 +/- 5 and Tavistock in the Key word box and still not finding her.

Have looked in the other years still with no luck.
What am I doing wrong?????

Also where is the 1911 available?

You need to put an asterisk after each bit of name - Cor*. The * is a "wildcard", which represents Cor and anything beginning with Cor.

In 1881 she's transcribed by Ancestry as Cordelia Mayor

In 1891 she is Gardelia Magos

In 1901 Cordelia Magon

I have at last foud all the census entries, thanks.

I have also found a Thomas MAGOR born Newton Abbott Sept 1/4 1839

There is also a Thomas MEAGER born Bodmin Mar1/4 1842

Which do youthink I should take as mine. Thomas MAGOR on the cencuc always says he is born Bodmin. Do you think the spelling would be OK?

father George Henry GALLOWAY and mother Bridget CONNOR.

Katherine married Benjamin KENT in Kensington in 1906

any help appreciated

1891 shows her name as Catherine, aged 6 and therefore born between April 1884 and March 1885.

I wonder if she was registered as Jane Catherine?

I don't know if you are still interested but I found the marriage of Thomas Magor and Cordelia in 1863.
